Re: Resilence Lifestyle

Jansman, Thanks for the explanation on "Council Housing" We've got chickens now and I know what you mean about eggs. I'd like to do rabbits in the future but I need to move to a bigger property first or sacrifice garden space for them. I'll stick with gardens for now since they are really ...

Re: Resilence Lifestyle

Housing is very short in a lot of areas in the UK, judicatr - not as bad as after the war, after all  but bad enough - lots of people live alone in houses meant for small families (like me!) lots of people separate/divorce and want two homes, where they used to have one, immigrants *do* take o...

Re: Resilence Lifestyle

Interesting... I hadn't realized that housing was in such short supply in the UK. Our problem in the US is the opposite. Since the housing market collapse in '08 (some say its beginning to recover), short sales and repossessions and folks just walking away from their homes have increased. New home c...

Resilence Lifestyle

Here's a great example of a "resilience lifestyle" in action! Sadly, with the state of the US economy and its likely future, this may become more common in America. I'm not sure what the situation is in the UK, but would welcome any thoughts on that matter from that perspective. http://www...

Re: Blast From The Past - Kurt Saxon Articles From The 1970'

tc556guy, Well, I suppose your interpretation is one perspective. To be honest that seems like a tortured reading of the text to me. Especially since at the time the article was written abortion on demand had been legal in the US for a number of years. I stand by my previous comments. Even if what S...

Re: Boys bedroom/prepper storage.

Bettersafethansorry - Great use of Google Sketch Up! Oh and I'm sure the bedroom will turn out great too. :-) Best not let my boy see your plan though, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it.

Re: Blast From The Past - Kurt Saxon Articles From The 1970'

Greetings Triple_Sod Well I almost feel bad for my previous trite comments. You raise a good point though. I do think its true that sometimes a little diamond might be found amid a mountain of rubbish. Nevertheless, I stand by my premise that with Saxon you have to dig through a good bit of rubbish ...

Re: Blast From The Past - Kurt Saxon Articles From The 1970'

Wow Triple Sod thanks for the amusing articles... Kurt Saxon, now that's a name I've not heard in years. Old Kurt has been predicting the end of the world since bell bottoms and disco were all the rage. I first saw Kurt in a Law Enforcement IED awareness level course I took through work. The instruc...
