Re: a little winter heating advice please
Heating: ensure your curtains are thermal lined and your back/front door have heavy curtains. Hot water bottles are great. Lots of blankets, duvets etc. You could also consider a calor gas heater. Try to keep the cold out if you can and get used to less heating now, let your body adapt. We have don...

Charcloth is a great idea! Arzosah, you could also fray your cloth so that it "catches" better and keep the scraps in your bob as Itsy suggests? I think we should conduct trials ..... I'll try some different approaches over the weekend (yes, I too have an undersink cupboard full of old t s...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
I'm setting up the three month spreadsheet thingy from the foodstoragemadeeasy website that Lil recommended the other day. it's very complicated, but probably the most sensible way to manage if you're implementing an OAR approach. I've been working on it for three flippin' days and will let you know...

Where have you been finding creme eggs? I love them and see comfort food as an essential prep :) I need to work on organisation too. I might be increasing supplies, stores and kit, but that's no good if it's not in sensible places. As Arzosah says - approved foods and also Rosspa, which I find a bi...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
My focus this week has been on non food - so I've upped stocks on bin bags, caustic soda, gen hygeine items and ......erm, cream eggs..... The plan for next week is to get some active work done to improve my organisation - it's not something that comes easily to me so I always have to focus o...

These sound MEGA!
And on a practical prepping note.... they can be made completely on a cooking surface - so ideal if no oven available.
