2 of the wee battery led lamps
1 whistling kettle (for the stove as we've had no non-electric kettle until now)
1 in car multi charger

Re: Planting 2012
Lil that sounds like a pretty horrible wee time - but if it makes you feel any better (probably not though) I'm near Glasgow and also getting hee haw done in the garden because of the weather - it's grotty / miserable and still frosting at night! Never mind - let's get the peas and beans in on a dir...

Re: Tinned margarine - approved foods
Hi there, I know that this thread's been dormant for aeons - but I wanted to update on the approved foods stocklist. There are 2.5kg tins of peeled plum toms for £1.49 with loadsa date left on them (i think 1yr +), I've ordered 4 tins - I'll make chutney with one, pasta sauce with one and put the ot...

Re: I found this tonight
thanks so much for that - I was feeling a bit demotivated after costing some essential preps for the home earlier today, but I'm back on track (and upright) again.

Re: Tinned Fruit
a quick note on tinned tomatoes - if you're overstocked and nearing / past bbe date, you can make tomato chutney with them and that way you'll get another 1-2 years out of the stock (as long as you sterilise and store properly) - or have something different for swaps.

Re: Tinned food rotation

I haven't seen an insert like the one you mentioned, but would be interested if an...

Re: 10 x 5 Gallon Mylar bags - help with contents
hi there! The whole rice thing is crazy and I find it exhausting! However, I've made a personal decision to go with basmati - it stores really well and my whole family likes taste so that's what we're going with (i find long grain too sticky and have no idea what most of the rest actually are. I'm u...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
It's to drop to minus2 where I am tonight & be colder than either Christmas or New Years Day over this weekend! I did a big shop at Tesco tonight ( I HATE them, but got my hands on a "spend £80 and get £10 off voucher) so topped up stocks with 10 cartons of uht milk, 4 kilos of sugar, 10 bo...

Hi there - I'm TOTALLY new and want to learn about prepping in the UK. I'm right at the planning stage and figure that's the best time to learn!
