I think if it was to get to that stage the government are just as likely to look at people who don't leave a paper trail... wondering what they've got to hide. So if you have a loyalty card which shows a pretty normal household spending pattern, and then do some cash transactions elsewhere, you look...

There are baggage offices at many stations - I used the one at Liverpool Street Station about 5 years ago, then they x-rayed everything (airport style) and there seems to be loads of stuff they will not except in the bags. Some great points on this thread - thanks everyone. Just a little thing that may be useful for anyone who uses allery releif tablets - basic Piriton in particular... they cost a fortune don't they... but you can buy tubs that are much cheaper. I ordered mine from Boots last year, £8.99 for 500 table...
