Re: Dig to survive
I'd like to get in a good stock of unopened packets - trying to get the longest 'Plant Before Date' that I can. I am hoping that storing in them in optimum conditions (if feasible) will elongate their lifespan. But I don't know what optimum conditions are! This site is talking about storing collect...

Re: Wanting a good book
I bought that one a couple of weeks ago, very good.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bugging-Out-Dav ... 838&sr=1-1
Page 27 reads well, as it is based in the UK, and I think he (the author) has some useful knowledge. It looks like a new addition judging by the date.

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
The problem is that there are many people who will hear it is the opportunity to stick two fingers up at the Gov't and say no because of that reason, just like many do with so many other issues. Unfortunately not everyone reads all the available sources of information and rely only on what they wan...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
From the site you linked to Hermit. http://www.badscience.net/2008/02/forei ... ly-fluids/ Campaigners say Nazis used it to subdue people in concentration camps. Also But since I’m in the mood for some scaremongering , let’s not forget the potential harms. Fluoridation will give around one in eight...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
True. They are in the process of trying to introduce it to the Southampton area. Opinion polls suggest that the majority of those surveyed are against it but ....... but the Southampton City Primary Care Trust decided that "public vote could not be the deciding factor" Thats the bit I don'...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
And I highly doubt it is a government thing, if it was everyones supply would be affected, which it isn't. From the same link I posted This week Alan Johnson announced a major new push for putting it in the drinking water, with some very grand promises, and in the face of serious opposition. So at ...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
Interesting links. But when you take into account this quote from Ben Goldacre you might question some of their claims. The reality is that anybody making any confident statement about fluoride – positive or negative – is speaking way beyond the evidence. Here is a link to the complete article http:...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
In the mean time do we really think that flouride in the water is good for the majority of the general population or bad for just one or two so should be stopped ? For me personally I prefer to have a choice in whether I take medication or not. Base my decision on the risk of both the disease and t...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
Can't work out if you're agreeing with me or not  I think it's a case of balancing risk. If there was a flesh eating, highly contagious and lethal bug going around I would be happy to be medicated with something that hadn't been thoroughly researched....but to help prevent tooth decay ? Don't g...

Re: Fluoride in toothpaste?
From what I have read from articles genuinely looking at the evidence there has not been enough research conducted to state whether it is a good or bad thing, although personally I would prefer the government not to mass medicate the population using the water supply without thorough research being ...
