I've got a single cylinder Diesel engine I'm repairing at moment need a new alternator but good for 3 kW at 50 hz and as my house heating is oil I have a good supply of back up fuel 1200 litres at moment

Hi what frequency output do you get from this unit or are you just going for voltage over frequency ie just for lighting and heat rather than anything electronic?

Well I've been prepping lightly for a couple of years but really think I need to up my game, I'm a diesel engineer and electrician, plus aircon , have 2 young children and live in a rural community,

What you need is an old school diesel with mechanical fuel injection, I believe but not sure that the ignition coil on a petrol would fry.
