Re: TOPS Tom Brown Tracker knife

Stick to your regular knife and look at something like the Fiskars Brush Hook - with its hollow handle theres a place for a folding saw to be packed. Short of carrying a real, regular handaxe its a good bet... At reasonable sensible money with no gimmicks... ...my opinion at least. If I've already ...

Re: TOPS Tom Brown Tracker knife

I'm not a fan of that style of knife either, they're designed not to be useful, but to sell, think about where your hands are going to be if you want to use that draw knife section as a draw knife, that saw back will ruin your hand, I wouldn't recommend it for chopping either, it's too short and yo...

Re: TOPS Tom Brown Tracker knife

I suppose I don't actually know why I want a big knife and why I've been struggling to find one I like for awhile. I do like my Mora, but I also want something stronger and tougher which will last for a long time. I guess it comes down to durability then. It would be used in partnership with my axe ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

I bought some more AA and AAA Duracell batteries (2 for price of one at Tesco), got some more candles and some Seven Oceans 72 hour rations for my stores. I've also been focusing more on skills rather than gear of late. I've learnt a few more knots and recently purchased Hedgerow Medicine: Harvest a...

Re: My Bug In List

Yes I too apologies, my original post was written with a world without rule of law in mind, hence it wouldn't really matter. I think it's hard to discuss these issues whilst the law still does exist.

TOPS Tom Brown Tracker knife

I'm currently trying to decide on a main knife for my bug out bag to go along with my Mora companion. What do people think of the TOPS Tracker? https://www.topsknives.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/650x/040ec09b1e35df139433887a97daa66f/t/b/tbt010_3_medium_.jpg Some specs: Blade Length: 6 1/...

Re: My Bug In List

Let's be clear, I was not saying you should use guns for self defence, as having any item or weapon for the purpose of self defence is illegal in the UK. What I was saying is what you can legally own in the UK. Some licensed, and some without licence. I have re-read the rules and I cannot find anyth...

Re: My Bug In List

You seem to have made a good start so please take these as constructive criticism or either as questions to get you thinking. If I had a garden I'd seriously consider growing some of my own fruit and vegetables so that might be something for you to consider for the more long term goals. 100% wool bl...

Re: Bug out bag

Hi MBJ - I like your bug out bag - it's a solid start - it looks like you're at a similar place to me with your preps. I can tell you've read a lot of this forum :) Is it a 72 hr bag or an INCH bag? If it's a 72 hr bag (I still don't understand what these are for really) then rather than a full axe...
