[quote="Hedgey"]A good thing to watch is a couple of the true stories from WWII, The Colditz story and Stallag Luft three, The Great Escape, also "Moonless night" by Bertram A James, nice bloke, met him a few times, Wife went to his funeral a few years back.
Anyway, they "stashed" kit in the Castle and in the camp that has been found in recent years. They found it because the old boys remembered where they had put it. 60 years on.
This may be a bit off topic, but I wanted to say, "Thanks!". I had a look at Amazon at Moonless Night and another one where the guy mentions he worked in one of the finest stores in London (Frederick Corringe) before his exploits of derring-do. I have a pair of brand new, seemingly antique, beautiful fine leather ladies'/girls' gloves marked with what I thought was the maker's name. I've been trying to find out something about them for years without success and now I know it wasn't the maker's name, but the store's name. Not much use if the SHTF, but it's amazing where your curiosity will lead you .
