My Missus Doesnt Take Prepping Seriously

What have you seen to narrow your views so much, can you share with us? I'm only a retired nurse and have seen more people die than most soldiers, but its just the way things are, be optimistic, look on the good sides of life and cheer up chap.

I just think that this modern western throwaway society is just not sustainable, in the days of Peak Oil and Climate Change I just think its all beginning to come to the end, no civilisation before has ever survived for all time, look what happened to the Mayans, the Aztecs, the Ancient Greeks and even the Ancient Romans, those civilisations are all gone and gone forever, I think the same will happen with the western civilisation, I have said before I think the human race will breed itself out of existence, i.e. there will be too many people for the limited,and ever decreasing, resources. at some point it will all come to a head, maybe it will be a slow decline, but somehow I doubt it, I expect something will happen to cause a domino effect. I expect you will say I am paranoid, you are entitled to your opinion-as I am, I just think I need to be ready for it when it comes-whenever that is. wife said this morning-on the drive in to Tescos- that she thinks I am a survivalist rather than a prepper, maybe I am, I just prefer to be ready, to be prepared,for whatever is coming no matter what it is.

Evidence shows that population growth is falling and population will probably peak at around 10 billion.

I suspect the real problem is the increase in consumerism - each person aiming for a Western lifestyle where they will consume many times more resources than current. So the effective population will rocket skywards even if actual numbers decrease and far faster than we humans could reproduce anyway.

Either way, it ain't gonna be long and it ain't gonna be pretty.
