Thank you for that link. Most helpful.
I do have to say that a large measure of Bushmills Irish Whiskey is a good (if temporary) pain killer.

Dental cement, now there is an idea. In fact I fad no idea such things were available. I see Hobo is ordering a dental kit. Where would a chap buy such things?
These are the ones I have:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toofypegs-Crown ... tooth+pegs

http://www.amazon.co.uk/DenTek-DK-05030 ... 0W4AJBZXGZ

Several other similar things on amazon....

Also got one of these:

I saw some of those toofypegs kits in the Home Bargains today when I was picking up some first aid supplies, it was around the £2 mark. I didn't pick one up at the time but think I'll go back for one now. I'm going to be getting my water stocks from Home Bargains too, 29p for 2 litres and it's good for 2 years!

It really does kill the pain of tooth sensitivity and it might even help in your situation. Its dramatically different to other sensitive toothpastes. However, even if the pain goes away, get thyself to a dentist no matter what.

If we ever have to do without dentists, it will either be because it will all be privatised or because its a temporary fault in the system that will pass quickly IMHO

Sensodyne really is the only toothpaste that works for me I notice a difference fairly quickly if I don't use it and during the winter keeps the misery of sensitive teeth under control. Just a bit rubbed round the tooth will help. Highly recommend it. Hope you get sorted soon Jansman

This thread has really touched a raw nerve hasn't it?
I have been using the clove oil,and it certainly helps. It is the first time I have had toothache. I swear that the pain is worse than when I put my boning knife across the tendons of my hand at work! I really do mean it. Anyhow, I am not the first and I won't be the last to have this problem. What it has dine is to make me look at simple medical supplies for ailments.

I often wonder how animals get by with toothache. It kind of disturbs me,knowing how bad it is,that they can't tell us.

Someone I know with a dentist phobia swears by whisky and waiting for the nerve to die.
Not for me though. My pain threshold is too low...
I think I am right in saying that you can 'leapfrog' paracetamol and ibuprofen,so one is taking greater effect whilst the others effect is fading,to manage the pain.Double check that though.
Watch your 24 hour rules though -don't exceed the maximum dose over the 24 hour period.

Hope it eases soon.

I am still in some discomfort , but it is settling down. Dentist Monday. After trying to eat my dinner yesterday, I could have taken it out with pliers!
Best is, I look after my teeth.

My GP put me onto this idea as a temporary measure for pain. It makes toothache more bearable.
