key ring torch

I've had a maglite AAA solare for about 15 years (was an 18th birthday present) and its just about worn out the knurling has worn away its smooth now

So I can get a replacement on amazon for £3.50 odd as its stood the test of time


Or is there better? Seen they now do an led version or is there any others I should concidder ?

Love my Trunite AAA torch - they do a variety of specs not too pricey...

Bit pricey, but worth every penny, its a fantastic torch, a single AAA battery makes it so small you do not even notice it on your keyring, but the amount of light it chucks out is amazing and I have no idea how so much light can be generated by something so small!

going on the fact the original maglite has stood the test of time.... and is now working again after i stripped it and cleaned the contact face in the barrel where the bulb switch sits it might be good for a few more months.....

(that and Mrs Andy caught me looking at torches then rolled her eyes a bit (read lots) then reminded me that in about 3 months its my birthday as she tries to slyly add the maglite led solatare to her watch list or what ever amazon call it

for christmas (paid about £8 for it on ebay)

the bugger is very bright for 2 led and switches off after (6) hours (iirc) to save battery power if she dumps it in her toy box turned on and has a snap away plastic bit on the headband so she cant accidently hang herself with it ... So bright she lost it on Christmas day at bed time as she thought it was fun to blind a tired sleepy mummy whilst she was watching tv

If you don't mind waiting for delivery from China you cannot go wrong with this little AAA torch. Very bright, great build quality and no annoying strobe or SOS modes. I have had one for almost a year in my pocket with keys and the finish is still not worn.

A pleasure , recharged mine the first time the other day after about 6 weeks , showed no sign of needing it , but I have not used it more than 2/3 times but handy to know the standby time............. will leave it 3 months this time and see................

It's not a keyring torch, but it is small enough it fit in your pocket and you can have either disposable batteries or lithium-ion battery but i swear by my Fenix PD35, super bright on full power, 2014 model is 960 lumens, has 5 power levels, plus strobe, is fully waterproof, downside??? It has a steep price tag, around £59, i love it, high quality, might be worth a look for your birthday...
