A little bit about myself.

A father and recently a grandfather.

I spent 17 years in the armed forces where I first becamse interested in survivalism back in the mid 80's.

My work life and home life took over and I've only recently had my interest rekindled in the subject.

Looking at the state of the world and the natural and man made disasters that are now happening I thought I'd take some time to research and prepare for what might happen for the safety of my family.

Nowadays with the help of the internet things are so much easier to research and purchase. A big diference to the mid 80's.

My wife thinks I've 'gone all weird' by the way so no help from there but she does indulge me to some degree - she brought my 3 in 1 waterproof jacket for my birthday.

So I'm now here seeking to take that step from arm chair warrior to ... whatever I need to be.

So baby steps first - EDC, then GHB and maybe BOB to some degree. I have started to collect some bits already.

Thanks already for the information currently on the forum and thanks in advance for any questions I might ask along the way.
