In my pocket I always have a SAK with a mini maglite attached to it. They get plenty of use with the rusty knackered old trailers I have to pick up

I have a sports bag I take with me in the lorry each day which contains plenty of general work stuff plus a few preps in case I am stuck miles away from home

The work stuff includes a karimor sleeping bag, first aid kit, 2 litres of water, and a days worth of food

The other bits fit inside a mess tin in the end pocket of the bag

Mess tins x 2
Hex Stove and fuel
6 packets of vegetable rice
Very small towel
Wet wipes
Puritabs
Emergency foil shelter
Compass
Fire steel and a couple of lighters
Cheap plastic poncho

My EDC is a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. I've had it for about nine months now and do take it everywhere with me.

I have swapped some stuff out; new phone, no DS Lite, no camera/accessories, added batteries, Swedish firesteel, Paul Chen multitool, but the rest is still current. Once I've dug out my portable radio and purchased a Kindle I'll be adding those too.

I carry it in a Dakine Apex. The thing is designed for mountain bikers and has a holder for a full face helmet, the thing is nearly indestructible as they expect the user to come off and slide along rocks on their back with it on at high speeds.
