Acuired a Wild Woodgas Stove MK II. Expensive to buy new, but very lightweight and compact. Mine lives in my rucksack.

Re: crisis cookers
Just looked at this and did a search and found it on http://wildstoves.co.uk/wood-cooking-st ... gas-stove/ and watched the Youtube video about it. Very impressive and makes it a very efficient to use as an emergency cooker in times of crisis - especially with the cost of gas continually going up. This is going onto my list of requirements to save for! Thanks for the info.Jon G wrote:Acuired a Wild Woodgas Stove MK II. Expensive to buy new, but very lightweight and compact. Re: crisis cookers
You may wish to check out Wood-gas stoves on the Web. These are incredibly efficient and light-weight. Ideal for a BOB. The Wildwood stove is made in the UK and a lot cheaper than the American Crisis Cooker. Have look at this. http://wildstoves.co.uk/wood-cooking-st ... gas-stove/

Another (slightly balmy point), I sometimes run my cooker on wood cat litter pellets. I had to make a grate with smaller holes to stop the pellets falling through, but they burn for ages and throw off some heat.
