portable wood burning stove?

Post by harlowmaverick »

Hi there all,
Looking at buying a portable wood burning stove.
Anyone got one or had one?
I have seen the frontier stove at the bushcraft store and liked it but not the price LOL.
Any suggestions or alternative stoves that you can recommend?

Regards
Phil

Hi there I'm sue it you look around some people will have already posted some.

To name a few of the top of my head there is the folding firebox. http://foldingfirebox.com/
The honey stove. http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/product397.asp
And the bushman (I think that's what it's called)

Will post links when I can.

Personally i like the folding firebox it is simple and all in one containted. Unlike the honey stove.
I'm sure there are more out there just have a look.

Hi Phil,

I have some friends that have the Frontier Stove, some rate it others hate it :)

I have a Helsport Stove designed for Lavvus:

More expensive, but will last a lifetime and comes with the guards required for use in a tent/lavvu unlike the Frontier
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

looks good, totally collapsable by the looks of it.
so i take it that it is a lightweight stove.
any chance of a review and any good/bad points please?
