Rabbits - Nutrition

Post by ptans »

Hi Again
I would just like a bit of advice on rabbits. We have seen on the USA preppers. 1 family had rabbits and said it was the ideal meat as the reproduction of rabbits are high (Randy Buggers) that kept the family in meat for a long time. And which is the best rabbit to eat

But a friend from work has told me that the meat from a rabbit has very little goodness in it and is not good for you over long periods.

I would like this clarifying. If anyone could help.

Hi,

Your mate was talking about rabbit starvation, due to a deficiency of essential fatty acids in the meat.

Rabbit is fine if you eat some of what the rabbit does.

Have a balanced diet, not just rabbit meat and you'll be fine.

Rabbit Starvation is a form of Protein Poisoning.

I like a bit of rabbit, usually stewed or casseroled with plenty of mixed veggies.

Was thinking about trying out the use of snare wires this year to try and fill the freezer up, anyone got any ideas of the best way to set them up please?
