I have a lot of rechargeable gadgets these days, and I would quite like to recharge them using solar power. So I thought I could use a cheap 10 Watt solar panel like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-10W-12v-E ... 1224326251 which is designed for trickle charging a lead acid battery. But these can run at anything up to 21 Volts (open circuit) so I don't fancy connecting one directly to my beloved Li-ion or NiMH powered portable devices. So how about using a cheap USB car charger / adapter like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-12V-24V- ... neChargers. This can handle an input voltage of 12 to 24 Volts, and will attempt to supply 5 Volts at an amp or two. Perfect for charging up my little gadgets...
Could anyone tell me if this is a plausible / sensible solution?
Idea for Solar Charger
Re: Idea for Solar Charger
I have been looking for something portable on the solar front and noticed quite a few projects on kickstarter recently that may be of interest :
