Of course in practice it’s far more complex and there's no getting around the fact Britain is a small, over populated island, but the basic premise still holds true, the further away from large population centres you are the less likely the people there are going to rock up on your doorstep...just common sense.

Being realistic like you said the uk is over populated so where would you go, would you join us on the river or sea islands?

In the towns , cause the countryside will be swamped by hordes of looters , hunters and gangs . So the towns will be desolate. :)

 honestly who knows,

The way I look at survival and preparedness you start with the most likely scenarios, job loss, short term disruptions,
so you sock up on food and other essentials, start to get out of debt, put money away.

Move out to stuff like economic depression, serious pandemic, prolonged civil conflict,
this is where you start analysing your wider lifestyle, where you live, how you earn a living, moving towards being more self-sufficiency.

The problem I see within the 'prepper community' is we tend to want to skip right forward to 'TEOTWAWKI'
Which is a bit like starting to box and getting straight into the ring with Joe Calzaghe or trying to build a house from the roof down.

We're just talking about the hypothetical situation, as discussing decisions and improving ideas is a form of prepping, this is just the discussion of tactics on how to knock down Calzaghe not the actual fight, but by talking about the problem we have a better chance of succeeding than leading heavy footed into an ignorant decision and getting knocked out in the first round. Preppers want to be there till the fights over so that we can continue to thrive and survive?

Yeah but sticking with the boxing analogy, would it be all that productive sitting around talking tactics your going to use in a big fight
when down the gym you're still learning how to punch the bag properly...

It's better than not being able to punch the bag and not having any tactics
