I hear you brother. My wife is exactly the same. Every time I try to talk to her about it her eyes just glaze over.

Cheers Tigs

Trouble is we dont ever use cans but I read they last 10 years past their canning date so they are a must
Keep up the good sugestions though

Blackwater Jack:
For my missus its a look of embarrassement, like can my other half really be saying this? O Dear
I just keep telling myself that prepping can be done in the back ground without it being a big issue

Someone was mentioning insurance earlier and I totally agree.
I'm just gonna be getting on with it anyway

they last a lot longer than 10yrs past there sell by date, you could tell her the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommend that you have a months worth of tinned food in case of power outs ( no fridge or freezer!)

I said in my intro that I hadn't heard of prepping before last year and the same went for my wife. She was also a bit unsure when I pointed out that we did seem to prep although she wouldn't call herself a prepper. I too mentioned the food insurance idea and that made sense to her.I've also showed her threads on here such as a link to toilet paper shortage in Venusala.
Fast forward to today and she walked in with a couple of dozen packets of sweetcorn and just casually mentioned that she'd got a few preps.
Keep at it Laziji, gently gently catchy monkey as they say.

Laziji at the risk of sounding smug which isn't my intention I'll relate another story.
In my intro I mention my sister in law who just can't see the sense in prepping. Recently we were all out having a meal down the local and my wife was telling her sister about stocking up on tins of food. I just sat back and listened and said nothing. the SIL was aghast at the idea of living on canned food to which my wife then went on to talk about how you could swap tins of beans for other things ie trading or bartering. I was dead chuffed at what had been taken aboard at least by my nearest and dearest although I'm beginning to think her sister is a lost cause :D

grenfell ,
let your SIL stew for a while , theres a good chance she`ll take note , may not be on a grand scale but little by little
