Hi all,
I just wondered how many of you keep chickens or are thinking about keeping them.
Iv kept them now for close on three years

Yep, had them now for just over 4 years.
Started with battery hens but as they aren't guaranteed to lay (edited to add) ..
Once they died, we got point of lay.
Our next step is to raise chickens for meat.

we have over 100 , my 14 year old daughter runs her own little egg business and we have a steady supply of eggs and meat

A tip to make a chicken dosile before you ring its neck, put its head under its wing, then wave in large circles to make it dizzy holding in both hands one over each wing. it works really well. twist and pull neck like a cork screw. If bugging out tie a pice of string to a leg and put bird on top of your backpack, i had to do this for two days on a survival course once. got pecked in the head a few times...

We have had 2 hens since summer. Have stopped laying for winter tho.

I have kept fowls on and off for years now. Nice gentle creatures that take no real work, and give a steady egg supply.
