Hi all
In looking for recommendations for a 1kw inverter that I could run off a few deep discharge batteries that I have. I did search but couldn't find anything.

If you want it to power delicate electronics (TV's laptops etc) best to go for a pure sine wave type (but more expensive) for more rugged kit (lights etc) the cheaper type will suffice

Freind off mine had maplins largest inverter witch went wrong just under a year Old they refused to replace it and he never pushed matter but not the best customer service

I would not recommend Maplins as their are better options out there. Shop around on the net.

If your planning to run close to 1000w from it get a 2000w unit as many devices need an initial start up surge of current to get them going... and even then most have a 100% duty cycle of about half an hour..

If you have the budget for it Victron are an excellent brand, they do a huge range so one will be just on spec. Trade price on a 1200W model is about 350 though. ![Shocked :shock:](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
