Hello everyone, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to prepping, I do love wild camping so have a decent knowledge of that side of things.
I've come across this site a few times when searching for info on things so thought it was about time i signed up.
I'm starting to prepare for a financial and social collapse with an eye towards a nuclear threat from Fukushima, Chernobyl or the inevitable abandonment of all nuclear power stations if the S really HTF with no rule of law, either here or abroad.

Welcome
That is an interesting point about nuclear power stations in the event of social breakdown, I had always assumed the MOD Police would somehow manage to press-gang a skeleton staff into keeping them safe or shutting them down. But you have me thinking, probably not!

Re: Hello from south Yorkshire
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, finding some really interesting things on here.
I imagine there is some sort of protocol, but how effective it is i wouldn't know because it was most likely thought of during the cold war. (it's not the kinda thing you want to be searching for on google )
I think that if there was riots and a total breakdown the engineers would probably leave to be with their family's or be unable to get to the power station because of marauders and roadblocks, the Mod are to far stretched at the minute and for the foreseeable future and would have their own nuclear problems to sort as well.Malthouse wrote:Welcome

Bear in mind that the MOD Police have the specific job of protecting Britain's nuclear power stations.
