Urban caches
Re: Urban caches
Was thinking on this the other day. The one pain in the arse about working overseas is that "naked" feeling I get from not having a Leatherman strapped to my side. Considered finding myself an alternative (that isn't a bloody Swiss-family-robinson-army knife) when in-country and then stashing it either near a frequently used hotel/pub or the airport itself. Flowerbed would have my vote but it depends if they get regularly fondled by a professional florist. Definately worth giving a go.

To test out whether things get moved. Why don't you bury a 'thing' at Desired location and see if it gets moved or removed.
Just an idea.

Cheers for that Corvus but I think the scissors would still stop me carrying that on commercial flights. Hell they'd probably get the latex gloves out just for me trying haha *que unfortunate flashback to El Dorado International Airport*.ForgeCorvus wrote:Herbal, this any good ?

Good call Maddosammo, will have to remember to half-inchm a pen from the front desk of whatever flea-infested hotel they next send to me, and doss it in a planter somewhere. Better use of my time than making paper aeoplanes and setting light to em before launching em off the roof
Peace, out.
Re: Urban caches
Just pack stuff in the hold luggage, or if you have time you could post it out to your location prior to going and post it back when you leave.
Stop, Read, absorb, understand, reply.
Re: Re: Urban caches
I never put anything in the hold to avoid waiting around once I arrive and potentially lost bags during transfers. Posting ain't a bad plan but I normally don't get much notice... or find out where ok.staying till I get there... plant pot it is!12mp82 wrote:Just pack stuff in the hold luggage, or if you have time you could post it out to your location prior to going and post it back when you leave.
Re: Urban caches
I guess it should be possible to buy when arriving, do you make return trips? if so could you have a locker if it is a place you go to regularly?

Re: Urban caches
Do lots of trips to a hand full of different locations, but never know the time between each one... I thought about a locker at a bus/train station, or a deposit box, but lockers are often spot checked due to post 9/11 paranoia and fee's for a deposit box would reflect buying a new tool on each visit. Departing Friday for a 5 day stint so will do a recce and see what my options are.12mp82 wrote:I guess it should be possible to buy when arriving, do you make return trips? if so could you have a locker if it is a place you go to regularly?
