I was kinda thinking that this way of thinking si slowly developing and is being promoted until such a time as it will be needed. I saw it on Countryfile, and I think I saw it mentioned here as well, the Incredible Edible movement to use municipal land to do propaganda gardens to encourage people to grow their own. These gardens are in all kinds of unlikely places and anyone can walk past and pick their own for free.

It will eventually get through to the peoples mentality one step at a time :)
