I bought the Collins Gem edition of Food for Free. I used to have a copy of the full text printed in the 1970s, but for recognition purposes, it was useless - line drawings! Can't tell a thing from them. So I'm very happy to have the Gem now :)

Also bought 3 bulbs of garlic that can be planted in spring - got my cunning plan in place now to improve the drainage, not just leaves but smashed landscaping chalk :)

And a Mother's Day card  Don't tell me thats not prepping

Bought eleven sachets of Kool-Aid on fleabay for less that a fiver!
I do keep a store of bottled water in the house, but in an emergency my main source would be my 6 water butts in the garden and a stock of water purification tablets!! Wouldn't taste too sweet but would be safe! Thought the Kool-Aid would be good to keep on standby in the event I should ever need to drink it!! Quite fancy trying the Black Cherry and Grape anyways! :D

Yet another experiment....Trying out some Sian$burys cheapo grated Mozzarella in the dehydrator. It's a 10% fat cheese, it's looking OK so far, but is no longer 'grated'

Checked my home fermented alcohol to make sure that the bread yeast is actually making alcohol (just a sugar and yeast wash with plenty of strong nutrient), and it has improved the specific gravity. Not long now before I am distilling and storing liquid energy.

After just under a week, fizzing like crazy.

Been practicing with some raw vegan foods to save mains power a my US cheque still hasn't arrived and I am somewhat uncertain about being able to keep the meters full.

When I cook up my 1/4 pound burgers on the trangea alcohol stoves using my aluminium griddle pan, for some reason, I get a much better thorough cook than I do with my camping gas cooker.

Gonna get some sprouting done tonight and use up my brown lentils and mung beans.

errrrm, let me think for a moment

Was it the 99p shop ;)

To be blatently critical there are a few things on the list I would be concerned about using in a SHTF situation, but worth having a try with to see how they get on.

These should be OK, but test the light sticks before relying on them

2x Cylume Sticks (Glowsticks) - £1
2x Mylar Blankets - £1
12x 500ml bottles of water - £1
1.2KG of Sugar - £1
