Surrey Salutations

Post by Gwiz »

Hello from myself here in Surrey. I'm certainly old enough to remember 70's unrest and expect that has played a very large part in shaping my outlook towards being self reliant. At home here, we are able to generate electricity via a small portable generator, and we also have a couple of small solar panels that charge a couple of deep cycle batteries, one of which powers a multiband transceiver. We also have some oil lamps around and about as we do tend to get power outages quite often.
I'm a Small engine specialist, repairing, among other things, generators, mowers, chainsaws, strimmers and such like.
I'm also a Gardener (was my trade-now too broken-of-back to do it full time), and like to grow some of my own food.
Currently living in Surrey, but hope to move out to greener pastures before too decrepit to enjoy it.
I shoot, make nets and fix/make 'stuff'. Not much else to say really.
What is this life, so full of care, we have no time to prepare.

I hope so. I don't claim to know everything by any means, but I know a bit, or someone who might know more..... :D
