Filtered Water Bottle

Post by bikerjoe83 »

Has anybody had first-hand experience of using a Water-to-Go bottle with water sources that would otherwise be avoided out in the UK-style wilderness?

I haven't heard of that one, but that doesn't mean that it isn't any good! However the website (http://www.watertogo.eu/) lacks technical detail. Compare this to a Sawyer Mini at http://sawyer.com/products/sawyer-mini-filter/. "0.1 micron absolute" ... "100,000 gallons". Clear as day. I'm sure others will be along to offer far more informed comment...

Ditto, never heard of it.

But I would say that being a 'drinking bottle' it's going to be less flexible if you want to need to filter larger quantities.

Like BW my vote goes to the Sawyer mini.

Me too. Lovely bit of kit.
Just remember to sleep with it in your sleeping bag if it's wet and the temperature is below freezing.
My prepping consists of bugging out by bicycle so any comments are likely to be based on that scenario.

One of my last bootsale finds was the 58 pattern bottle with the filter in the top, I have seen them for about £30 if its a filtered bottle you are after, not sure of the specs, but should be hard to find.
I havd a lifesaver bottle, I would like the new cube, but I have the sawyer mini on my christmas list :D

I've got a one, got it at 'Bodypower' last year. Tend to use it at the gym or when out and about at work specially when it's clearly just tap water.

Not used it when camping yet but the marketing and write up seem promising etc.
