City Prepping

Post by GeraldTheBonzai »

Stumbled across some good video content on Youtube. Thought it might be worth sharing - can't see any reference to it here.

I like the attitude he has, it's very matter of fact and still far-thinking. I wish he'd speak a bit slower, that's my only problem

Bottom of the screen click the gear symbol (4th from the right), then the playback speed. Try it at .75

That's me f***ed then :)

But seriously, the intro video is not a bad synopsis of what we face and should be an eye-opener for the unprepared.

Just started watching one. I think I've seen him before, voice is familiar. Seems good, comprehensive. Watching a bit about 'structures' and he covers everything from your house, a tent, multistorey car park, cave.....to your clothes, insect repelant and midge net. I like this approach.

One thing I would say though, is that what might happen to me might only affect me, eg illness or disability onset. Someone else might crash their car in a remote place, or get it stuck in mud. Others might get made redundant. Collapse is coming, but it might be so gradual that we don't notice. The homeless are already experiencing it. I suppose my biggest fear is being very old and getting Alzheimer's or something else that means I can't cope. But these things can happen to anyone.

I did this, just this evening - its brilliant pseudonym, except he sounds like he's drunk    which is actually quite appealing.
