Hi Folks, new member from Wilts..

Post by Macawdor »

Just a quick line to say hi to everyone..

I moved into this area a few years back after 13-odd years in the Army.. I've always had a bit of a 'prepared' outlook on things, and am glad to see I'm not the only 'nutter' about..!

My prepping has, thus far, pretty much been on a totally practical level; I always have my backpacking bergen in the car (Warmth/shelter and 3 days food).. I also always carry my basic EDC (Leatherman Surge, pen, £20, lighter & torch). With the recent spate of bad weather, this is a justifyable and sensible thing to do.. I wouldn't want to be stranded on a country lane for 24 hours without my Softie doss bag..!

Starting to do a bit more home prep now too. I keep at least a month's worth of food at home at any one time, and portable means to cook it etc.. I cycle and replenish, so it's not just gathering dust..!

I don't think the end of the world is nigh.. But I think I've got a decent chance if the lights go out..!

Anyone let me know what 'Area' I'm in..!?

Hello, and Cheers Y'all..

Cheers all for the info and replies.. I was in The R. Signals, tigs.. Seems like a few ex-mil on this site, think I recognise the unmistakable 8-digits of another too.. (A little before my time..!)

Seems like a friendly site, I'll look forward to future posts and info.
