A simple low cost bit of kit in your first aid pack

Post by Briggs »

An eye bath. It's not in most pre-packed off-the-shelf first aid kits but it's worth adding one for the £1.50 it's going to cost. I'd been meaning to add one to my go bag first aid kit, never got around to it and wished I had last weekend. The added benefit is an eye-bath saves water. I had to use over a litre of drinking water to flush out my eye whereas the eye-bath would only have used a fraction of a litre. I was off-grid at the time so that one litre of clean water takes some time and effort to replace.

Just a simple thought, I hope it helps. Loads on eBay. Some come in kits with eye wash, etc, etc.
I recently experienced Plymouth City centre so that's why I prep.

that's a smart idea - as a glasses wearer and also contact lens user I've had a few recent issues this would help with. BTW - anyone know a good place to get cheap prescription glasses, I can only find the reading ones with a plus prescription in the shops, my prescription is a -2.50.
cheers all..

Mine say 2015, but I am not sure when I bought the last lot as I buy in bulk.*

* I use them to flush cuts / wounds as well when in the woods.

Good idea. I got an insect in my eye on Sunday night. Felt like a housebrick!
Fortunately we have an eye bath. Such a simple device.

I never thought about this before. I should get one for me too. I think I'll just get the one for 10 person so I can share it to my family members.

you could try this link been around a while and state lens and frames from 19.99 http://www.buyspecsdirect.co.uk/. I have never used them but used to live near there office/unit. I usually go to Tesco Opticians.
