Seen one in action.
They do charge items, but are bulky and weight wise not worth carrying.
The person who had it sold it on.![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Re: Anyone seen these before?
That looks pretty nifty, doubt a phone would be too much use in a SHTF situation though (other than for kids to watch some movies/games etc), but still very nifty.
Fail to prepare, then prepare to fail.
Re: Anyone seen these before?
I realy like the looks of this, and a built in charger too As said bit too bulky to go into a BOB, even a Berghaus Vulcan. But for emergency cooking its a great bit of kit. Thanks for the post.
Re: Anyone seen these before?
I was seriously tempted myself because of the fan assisted power of he device creating more reliability and more heat, but if you are after something that can charge your phone then a homemade hobo stove or wood gas stove with a thermoelectric device and scavenged heat sink would probably do the business at 1/3 the cost.
for winter cooking I am thinking much more along the lines of indoor cooking and, you guessed it, ethanol.
