Group Buy Mylar/oxygen absorbers - Expressions of Interest

Post by itsybitsy »

Last year (at least I think it was last year!) I organised a group buy of mylar bags and oxygen absorbers, which we got at a great price because of the bulk purchase. I am thinking of doing another - could I have initial expressions of interest on this thread, please?

Mylar protects food that you are laying in for long term storage - rice/pasta/beans/pulses and so on. You put the food in the mylar bag, pop in some oxygen absorbers and then seal the bag using heat - an iron will do.

Thanks, I'll ponder on that a little :)

It was a great deal Itsy, I still have plenty left though...
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Bloody hell, you must be slipping. Mind you - I seem to recall you did buy a lot!

I could certainly do with some.
When were you thinking and at what cost? (Feeling the pinch at the moment... )

Yeah, tell me about it.

I am not in a hurry, it won't be for a few weeks. And the prices will probably be the same as last time, assuming the seller hasn't put their prices up.

Prices as follows:

• 10 x 14” bag (3.5mm) $0.50 cents each

• 300cc oxygen absorbers (recommended for the 10 x 14” bag) $0.25 cents each

• 19 x 29” bag (4.3mm) fits 5 or 6-gallon buckets $1.50 each

• 2000cc oxygen absorbers (recommended for the 19 x 29" bag) $1.00 each

Although these prices are inexpensive, the postage costs will obviously bump them up a bit. I won’t know how much shipping to the UK is until I know how much people intend to buy. We need a sizeable order, otherwise the shipping costs are going to be prohibitive. So I am not going to do this if people are ordering bags in twos and threes and a couple of oxygen absorbers.

This is the same outlet as I got them from last time; I was really pleased with the quality of the merchandise and also the excellent customer service, therefore I have decided to use them again.

I will be collecting money PRIOR to sending out orders. That then removes any margin for problems to crop up, if you get what I'm saying...
