Interesting post, I agree that to be useful in an emegency situation you would like a flow rate of 8+ litres a minute.
However if in a mine or cave accident could be useful.

Good idea to have airways, a 'medium' oral airway fits most people, a better choice are naso-pharyngeal airways (NPA) as they can be put into people who are having seizures.
