I bought a solar charger for my kindle and phone, it has a torch on one side and solar panel on the other, very impressed so far. Its sitting on my window sill and had a full charge after a few hours. Also bought a small battery bank for the car/ handbag which is about the size of a small torch.

Thats a great idea, i'll do the same if you don't mind. It would be really interesting to have a better idea of what we buy, and whether its truly because i don't have something in the garden or because i just fancy something different.

I made jam this morning, 5 jars of summer berry and 5 of rhubarb and raspberry. I keep wandering into the kitchen to look at them as they look so tasty

Mm interesting question. We try and eat seasonally but i do have rice etc stored, but that wouldn't last for very long. I suppose we would just learn to eat a diet that would have been familiar to our grandparents generation. Books on cooking through the war years have lots of suggestions though the...

Postman just delivered a couple of sawyer mini water filters, these will mainly be used when were out walking but should be handy for other situations too. Hi all
Spent the day decanting hedgerow wine from stored demijohns, we now have 24 bottles stored for an alcohol emergency
,
and delighted to say they taste great (had to check for quality control).

I ordered a dehydrator today
and have sorted out lots of jars I had stored.
Also moved winter sleeping bags etc from the garage to the loft.
