Stumbled across this website the other day and was disappointed if I'm honest. The prices are a bit on the steep side and the range of kit is limited. Very little in terms of shelter, food was lacking and the options for water storage were disappointing.

In my opinion you can't beat the real stuff and personally would go for one of the Osprey plate carriers that the Army uses as they can be fitted with MOLLE pouches allowing you to change your layout depending on what your doing. Sorry junmist I don't think I made it clear. The boots arn't in my BOB I just thought I would add it to the list as if I am covering any real distance then a good pair of boots will make a difference.

As it has already been pointed out British Army mess tins. They come in sets of two with one slightly larger than the other so they all fit into one neat package. As an Army Cadet I can tell you that some surplus clothing is definatly better then others. I would always go to a shop as you usualy get better deals and can check the condition. What are you looking for in particular? Combat jacket, trousers, shirts, boots? If getting boots you need to be careful ...
