Should I return my ASDA Cornedbeef?

OK so I've been stockpiling and rotating food for a while, and I've got about 1 years cache of ASDA smart price corned beef hidden away. (approx 150 cans). I use about 3 cans a week (I make a large pie/pasty once a week using 2-3 tins which does 2 family evening meals, and lunch at work for 2 days)....

Re: So Are we paraniod?

Thanks Plantiejo For me prepping is more about picking yourself up after a fall, dusting yourself off, learning from your mistakes and making preps not to fall down the same hole again... Obviously if I get a heads up about the hole in the first place, thats even better... ;) Reading this forum has ...

Re: So Are we paraniod?

As an afterthought... You may read my above post and think to yourself, that if my preps are a sort of insurance against personal SHTF senario, then why not just save for a rainy day... When for us the S*** did hit the fan a few years ago, we realised that the bank would ALWAYS take their share of a...

Re: So Are we paraniod?

I believe that the chances of a natural disaster disrupting life as I know it is pretty slim (apart from the annual snow). However I have always been a very independent person (even as a child), I see my preps (a few months of food, allotment for fresh veg, etc...) as a way of becoming more independ...

Price Drop Heads Up - Corned Beef

One of the staples of my stores is corned beef... "nothing wrong with corned beef, lasts for ever and even comes with its own can opener" Anyway I keep a keen eye on the price at my local supermarkets, recently the ASDA smart price cans have been £1.80 they are back down now to £1.54 (same...

Re: Over the counter Anti-Biotics?

The dog de-wormer tablets is a good question. If as a prepper you are eating from the land (rabbits/birds/etc...) then its safe to assume that you will get worms (both threadworms and tape worms). We have 2 cats who enjoy hunting and eating things smaller than themselves, we have to worm them every ...

Re: Another South Wales Hello!

Thanks for the welcome. Although I eat meat I've never actually killed anything (perhaps a spider or two), but if its a matter of getting my hands bloody or seeing my family go hungry its an easy choice. I think wild rabbits are fairly common where I live so I will have to research how to turn a rab...

Should I store water

Ok I know I've only been a member for a few hours, and already I'm on my second topic, but so many questions.... I live near 2 or 3 water reservoirs, I also have limited home storage. I've been assuming that living so near these water reservoirs (and living in the what seems the wettest region of th...
