Re: Carrington style event with a solar flare... preps?
Big Solar Flares happen all the Time. The Carrington Event wasn't the big one we think it is. There was a huge one in 774AD. It is better known as the Charlemagne Event: https://phys.org/news/2012-11-sun-source-eighth-century-charlemagne-event.html Where I got the 200 year quote was from the Space W...

Re: Carrington style event with a solar flare... preps?
An EMP from either a Nuclear or a actual EMP device would probably be a localised event. By that say, the effects would be within a 100 or 200 miles radius of an Detonation. However, with a CME EMP from the Sun. If you take the UK as X marks the spot. An EMP directly hitting the UK, would effect the...

Re: Carrington style event with a solar flare... preps?
I was listening to a Podcast last year. The Conversation was about the Sun and it going into Hibernation and the effect it would have on the Earth over the next 50 years. The topic of a Carrington Event came up. The Guest, an Electronic Warfare Expert, said the number one question he was always aske...

Is it to late to sow a last crop of Potatoes?
Hi Guys
I have just harvested my first crop of potatoes from tubs. Which I'm very pleased with, as its my first attempt. Here's the question- Is it to late in the year to plant another crop?
Many Thanks in advance.

Re: Bug Out vest?
The reason you cannot carry a Bergan with Chest Webbing is that the Straps of the Bergan will cover the Top set of Pouches. And it would be uncomfortable to do so. Chest Webbing was designed for Non Combat Roles like Drivers and Engineers. Where Belt Webbing was inconvenient for jumping out of vehic...

Re: Bug Out vest?
The one problem with this type of vest webbing is you wouldn't be able to carry a large Bergan or Rucksack. Like you would with this: http://www.zipzapzooom.com/KOMBAT/PLCEWEBBINGSETMULTICAM/AA3.jpg I'm surprised none of the maufacturers don't make either type in Non-Camouflage Colours. Especially f...

The Little Ice Age by Brian Fagan (Free Copy on Google)
My apologies I've had this bookmarked for months and completely forgot to post it! I actually have this book and highly recommend it. Basically it shows the effects of the little Ice Age during the last Millennium and how bad life got during this period on an unsuspecting world. Enjoy: http://books....

Re: I think i scare too easy... ICE AGE?
I never listen to any "experts" or watch youtube videos - because that's only their opinion. Too many people with too much to say. If Siberia manages and Norway manages and arctic Canada manages then Scotland will manage. I'm just knitting faster  The Northern Northern Hemisphere...
