Firepal Portable Fire Extinguisher

Just came across this and thought it would be quite a good idea for a larger EDC. Would probably fit into a smaller one as well as it's only 242mm long and 53mm wide. For use on all types of fires and there are bigger options too. https://www.firepal.co.uk https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/product_i...

Re: Solar charging of Baofeng UV-5R radios

I had a visit from another prepper friend of mine last night. He was impressed with the UV-5R radios but the conversation then lead to power-outages and the battery life of the radios. Being a clever dick with electrics he took a look around and came up with this from the internet. (PS, my friend w...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

Opened up our fireplace ready for installation of a log burner, finally!! Can't wait as our house is gas and electric so no heat or hot water in event of a power cut. Now, just got to build up a supply of firewood! :D

Just out of curiosity, who "polices" the airwaves and how would they know if you have a licence or not? :?

Re: Prepping and Bitcoin

I am an avid prepper and Bitcoin miner. I often find myself with more digital cash than paper money I'm a bit puzzled with this one. As a prepper surely you would realise that if there was a sudden shtf situation like a major power loss then all this digital money you have is worthless. Even the 'r...

Re: Powermoney Solar Charger

Hi Scopemark. I bought a powermonkey explorer a few years ago. I used it a few times over the summer then put it in my emergency box for the winter. However, when I went to use it the following summer, it would not take or hold a charge. I contacted powertraveller, the company that makes them and wa...

All I can say is thank you to everyone, it's given us lots to think about and a visit to a shop is now definitely on the cards :)

Re: Choosing a compound or recurve bow

Thanks guys, lot of valid points there, enough to give me something to think about anyway! Realistically a recurve would be the best choice in a shtf scenario. However, my missus is quite petite so I wonder if a compound would be more suited to her build. Oh and does anyone know if a 25lb draw would...
