Re: Manchester preppers
Good to see there's a few of us, not quite the roaring community but SHTF will make survivalists out of a lot of mancunions. Plus it's good to know there's at least a few like minded people who could support each other if the time came.

Re: SHTF Personal Protective Equiptment
I'm actually considering getting a fire extinguisher and a few fire blankets and buckets to be placed around the home to be filled with water during a SHTF. I've also seen (again on eBay) ex police fire retardant jump suits such as the ones worn by riot officers and I wreckon that would be good in a...

Re: Ring binders
Yeah this really does have potential, the laminating is a class idea as well especially for more high use info such as maps. With this the possibilities stretch as far as you can print lol. Seriously though you could get all kinds of info on anything and everything prepping related.

Re: Prepping and Fitness
Obviously my objective in this post was not to cause offence, and obviously I respect that everybody has different levels of ability however it is still sound advice to improve your fitness level be it for SHTF or just daily life. I was simply highlighting the need for increased fitness during any k...

Ring binders

The idea if that you go out and buy a few ring binders and plastic wallets, and fill them with google image satellite maps of your entire surround area as well as any areas of interest EG water sources/foo...

Re: A simple low cost bit of kit in your first aid pack
Yeah this is a good idea I recently added some saline solution to my preps, got a 5pk of eBay for less than £2 they come in little squirty bottles so I can split them up into the various first aid kits I have lieing around and would be invaluable if you got something like petrol or some other nasty ...

Prepping and Fitness
I think as preppers one of the most important ways to prepare is to prepare our bodies for the possibility of a more physically demanding life, weather it's farming, fighting off raiders, running away from hordes of ravenous zombies, swimming for your life in a flood or just plain bugging out I thin...

Re: SHTF Personal Protective Equiptment
I went with the long shield for two reasons, the first was that it is excellent at blocking doorways say in a house and the second was that I had an opportunity to buy it lol. I did actually fancy the short/round kind as it would be much easier to use in fast combat situations however the one I have...

Re: SHTF Personal Protective Equiptment
The grey man approach is the act of blending in with the crowd, eg not looking like a prepper so you could rip your clothes, make your house look as if it had already been looted, hide your preps etc
