Re: Pandemic Checklist

I am in the UK, and yes - although the list is American I wouldn't discount it on that basis; It's very easy to buy N95 masks or their UK FPP2 equivalents on Amazon. I realise that N95 is the minimum level of protection recommended for a pandemic, and in the example of Ebola it should probably be so...

Pandemic Checklist

Hi All, I suspect the forum is getting busier with the ebola fears, so just thought I would drop in to share a handy pandemic checklist: _ Duct tape _ Scissors _ Plastic sheeting _ Soap _ Alcohol based hand sanitizer _ Toilet paper _ Facial tissues _ Deodorant _ Chlorine bleach and disinfectants _ G...

Re: how is everyone prepping for the big storm

I have done the following this afternoon: - secured items in the garden - gathered some basics together including torch, radio, blanket, paraffin lamp, candles etc. - extra batteries, paraffin and meths - food and bottled water for three days - ice cubes in the freezer, so we can transfer fridge con...

I have one of these with a leak - assuming you have a tilley lamp, any idea how hard it is to perform a service?

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

I bought a second hand gossamer gear g4 rucksack today - at 66l it's a bit bigger than I need, but having had it on the scales at 505g it's clear that the extra space is unlikely to be a problem.

I have a few camping trips planned, so sure it will come in handy then.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

I have just purchased a lightweight first aid kit for my everyday carry as follows: http://www.lifesystems.co.uk/products/first-aid-kits/light_dry_micro-first-aid-kit.html It's probably a little bit extreme, but have also invested in some celox gauze z-fold and a small pair of trauma scissors; I am ...

Re: Where is the real line drawn?

Hi ChrisRed, It's an interesting topic that you raise. I am not sure where the line is drawn and needless to say, storing anything more than a few cans of baked beans seems to be a bit of a taboo subject in 2013. The preparations that most are making are likely out of comfort i.e. a few blankets to ...

Re: Water Containers

I guess you have much bigger volumes in mind, but in another thread someone recommended these 205l containers: http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/fruit-juice-container-205l45-gallon I am likely going to order these stackable 25l containers: http://www.ampulla.co.uk/UN-Certified---St...
