Re: What Preps are you doing this week

Thanks for the good advice on the clothing front, it's going to be a learning curve working out what will wash and what won't, if electric prices keep rising I'm going to be using it a lot more.
Already ditched the tumble dryer, and strung washing lines above the bath instead.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

Ive been so excited this week, I manage to pick up an old fashioned clothes mangle and a dolly peg at a second hand shop. mangle needs a bit of a paint job, but its all cosmetic, works perfectly, (I know, I gave it a try in the garden,) washing brilliantly wrung out, me absolutely drenched from head...

Re: What's your all-time most fav book?

I've just finished reading "lights out" by David Crawford, an absolutely brilliant book. Also loved the Swiss family robinson as a light hearted easy read, and Geraldine brooks "years of wonder" for a different perspective on a SHTF story. Am about to start Exo vaticana but it se...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

That's great bob! Hope you get lots more supplies of candles from your new job, I've been having problems finding a good old fashioned candle, not a tea light, not blueberry scented, not glitter filled or colour changing, just a bog standard candle, lol seems they don't do them in my neck of the woo...

Re: Repeat prescriptions

Does nobody just buy online? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2 Is worth a thought, but source needs to be reliable otherwise you have no idea what is in them and its impossible to tell from the website. I have bought prescription meds on-line twice and the first lot was absolutely fine, but im...

Re: Blacking out the windows when dark

I've been thinking about this too, cant decide whether boarding up windows etc makes you more secure from outside attack, or make you more vulnerable in having less escape route in case of fire. It also begs the question how far am I willing to go to protect my home and family (and supplies). I gues...

Re: lone wolf,family or group

Such an interesting topic, it's great to hear what everyone's scenarios would be. For me, I have a large immediate family with husband and 5 teenagers who can't think of anything worse than no electricity. First priority would be to collect my mother who is only a couple of miles away but a little i...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

Very pleased with my foil emergency blankets that arrived yesterday from amazon, must start sorting the bits that I have bought rather than just sticking it in piles.
I think my next job is to sort out BOBs so the members of my family have one each. first have to buy the bags :D
