Re: In the event of nuclear war...
Do you think the government will be evacuating population from the affected areas? Because, if they do, then there be no need for particularly large stock of food etc I doubt (what's left of) our government would evacuate one bombed out zone to somewhere less bombed out. There'd be mandates to rest...

Re: Bleach maker
Take all safety precautions when working with potentially harmful chemicals. I don't know whether there's some confusion, but I'm not discussing sodium hypochlorite here, and reccommend that you check what I say. Calcium hypochlorite is used in kitchens to disinfect surfaces and equipment, as an in...

Re: Cannabis for pain relief
It wasn’t that hard for me to get it, honestly. There’s this clinic called Releaf, and they made the whole process super easy. They helped me get the cannabis I needed for pain relief without all the hassle. If your friend is struggling, they should definitely check it out.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Today we did a stock check on our freezers. We run four main freezers, one each for meat, vegetables, fruit and dairy alongside our general use ones. Normally these would be depleted by now ready to be restocked this season but with the way things went last year all are still brimming so the next w...

Our setup is remarkably similar with armoured cable running through the garden section. The plan is to add solar outlets too but at present that relies on charging up batteries which are then moved where needed. Sounds solid. Skip the battery shuffle, though. Set up a permanent solar link to the ou...

Re: Food for bug out? Quantities
For something like this, I’d go with 7-10 days of food per person. Three days might be the bare minimum, but if things go sideways, like blocked roads or supply delays, you’ll want more. Pack lightweight stuff, MREs, protein bars, dehydrated meals. Saves space and lasts longer. Water’s the real deal...

Re: Medicine use by dates...
Slightly mouldy bread has been used as a wound pack for thousands of years because of the penicillium mod that grows on it. I’d use it in a post SHTF but any mould that isn’t grey/green, utterly do not use. Far better to use standard first aid stuff, become trained in herbal medicine. Ointments/bal...
