Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.
Preps this week.... finally found this site again after a bit of a break (not from prepping, just from too much time wasting on the internet) Doubt you lot remember me, as I was always mostly a lurker, but I was glad to see a fair few familiar names. Got a shedload of shelves & kitted out my new...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
Been busy all summer so far, fighting a losing battle against slugs in the garden so very little veg has grown this year as they even went for the courgettes. I tried planting less of everything as I had too much last year even with losses, but next year I'm going back to planting way too much of ev...

I intend to stay put for starters unless in the most of extremely extreme situations of extreme extremeness so for us that usually involves a glass or two of vino so I have a fair stock put away. I add to it when I can, its unlikely to go 'off' in Casa Deeps. :D Not a fan of the cocktails myself bu...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
Lakeland have all the Easiyo yoghurt mixes etc... on offer until Sunday (half price for most of it) so have stocked up on my favourite flavours. It's the last time Tesco are doing Clubcard boosts, so I used all my points up getting a portable DVD player. Now my food/water/fuel etc... stocks are so w...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
I've just got the Lazyspa Miami, which is the smallest & cheapest one - they're about £260 at the moment, but tend to go up quite a bit in price in the summer. It's designed to fit 2-4 people, I'd say you'd better be friends if you want 3 adults in it because you'd tangle your legs up a bit but ...

Favourite 'prep' of the year - got out the hot tub! If the SHTF, it's 1000 litres of chlorinated water sat in the garden, handy for flushing the toilet etc..., if it doesn't, it's just a little bit of bliss every day. Watched the sun come up soaking in it this morning & felt really lucky to be r...

You can also make cheese with your Easiyo. If you don't have the instructions I will dig out my book.
Please do Decaff - I only have instructions for making yoghurt with mine, so I'd love to know more.

Cheese: You are supposed to use unhomogenised whole milk for most cheeses, you can buy it pasteurised in Tesco, Waitrose & Sainsburys. As far as I know Asda don't seem to do it, but I could be wrong. Ideally it should also be unpasteurised but I think you'd need to be friends with a farmer or ow...

You can download free pdfs of the mad millie cheese kit instructions/recipes from their site http://www.madmillie.com/MORE/Downloads.html I do have a couple of books on cheese, but honestly so far haven't found what I would consider 'the book'. If you keep pdfs they are probably worth adding to your...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
April is going to be a live off stores except for milk month so I can get the council tax paid ASAP & make sure anything approaching it's best before gets into my kitchen cupboard & used up. To that end we're starting with making our own easter eggs. I already had the moulds & the chocol...
