Re: The Hot Zone-Richard Preston
I read this over the summer - especially horrifying considering the current situation... I actually think I know more about Ebola from this book than from anything I've read anywhere else.

Re: Ebola Gear
Thank you, I am googling it as we speak...! :) We have a large garden spray bottle which we could easily adapt, and I think the removal of contaminated items seems to be easier if there are two of you. I've got a small stash of bleach, but will pick up some more when I can. I do hope we can avoid th...

Re: Ebola Gear
But in addition to all the protective gear - the goggles, gloves, masks etc - wouldn't you also have to have the means to get them sterilised between/after use? I read an article in The Guardian earlier by one of the medical team in Sierra Leone, and she spoke about the decontamination process after...

Re: Newcastle Newbie
Hi :) I watched Threads when I was pregnant with my youngest. The thought of trying to bring my childr...

Re: do you include neighbors?
We've lived in our house for two and a half years. We are in a small village, but there's nothing 'central' like a pub or shop where we could meet people really. We say hi to the people in the house across the road, but have only spoken to our next door neighbours a handful of times. I wouldn't ever...

Re: Hi from the Midlands
Sorry preppingsu, I did write a reply last night but my ipad went wonky and deleted it :D We've always wanted to live abroad, and a couple of years ago we decided to do it sooner rather than later, while our children are still small. We think it'll be a wonderful experience for them, and at the very...

Thank you I'm really excited, but also frankly terrified! Will keep everyone updated on how we are getting on.
