I've picked this one as the long stay will get me over th...

Re: Minimal 72 hour bag
If you can do 72 hours then with the addition of a few more skills (assuming you don't already have these ) there's no reason you couldn't live in the woods for a much longer period of time.
I'll look forward to hearing how you go on with your tfial 72 hours.

Re: Meths Burner Stove Set Up.
I've always been wary of carrying meths in the burner, normally burning it off which is a waste. Have you had any problems with leakage?

Re: Minimal 72 hour bag
Sounds like you have it pretty much sussed then. Your style is much like my own. I'm at an age now where I don't want to be carrying loads of gear and I do rely very much on my clothing. My sleep system on it's own couldn't cope with anything like all the extremes that the british weather could thro...

Re: Meths Burner Stove Set Up.
The trangia burner holds 20 minutes worth of fuel. The reason it took longer to heat water inside is because meths burns at a very low heat but out in windy conditions, the trangia actually performs better and hotter due to the increased oxygen supply. It's what they're designed to do! It's the only...
