Blanket at the ready to add to the duvet. 2 hot water bottles and a microwave one ready to go. Flask should I neef it. Long johns. Thermal vest. Winter coat. Warm jumpers. I've got my winter bivvy gear ready too. Torches are all ready to go with a supply of spare batteries. Calor gas fire as back up...

If you can do 72 hours then with the addition of a few more skills (assuming you don't already have these ) there's no reason you couldn't live in the woods for a much longer period of time.

Thanks for that. I don't want to carry fuel seperstely either, although I have thought og maybe getting another burner should I be able to carry fuel succesfully in the one I have.

I've always been wary of carrying meths in the burner, normally burning it off which is a waste. Have you had any problems with leakage?

The trangia burner holds 20 minutes worth of fuel. The reason it took longer to heat water inside is because meths burns at a very low heat but out in windy conditions, the trangia actually performs better and hotter due to the increased oxygen supply.
