Just to let you know that Aldi are selling tyre traction tracks for £9.99 at the moment - plastic folding tracks to help with traction in mud and snow. Might be handy over the winter months?

Thanks preppingsu, that's a good idea. My children are only 2 and 4, but the 4 year old is already interested in our vegetable patch and I think if we start showing them things now, they'll hopefully just accept it and get involved. Fingers crossed anyway!

One thing I've been thinking about is the psychological effect of having to stay put at home with young children.
