I think I may get a blueberry to add to my fruits -now raspberries,gooseberries and blackcurrants.
I've started to train a big bramble up the back shed -working with nature rather than against,this beastie is so well established I may as well make an asset of it.

I tend to look for specific books -knots and rope techniques,or natural remedies,,as examples.
Lots of books on eco/sustainable/green living can be useful,and seem to turn up in charity shops too

I'll be interested to read the replies,since I've just started planting up the old chook run -I'd assumed the extra fertiliser would be good.
Hope I'll get away with it since they weren't in the run much -normally free ranging unless there was a reason to keep them in.

I've managed to get 2 paraffin hurricane lamps and 4 out of my 5 oil lamps from charity shops and bazaars -all working,and with a total cost of under a tenner! At the weekend I got a couple of new blankets and a barometer,second hand.I have a thing about good quality blankets -in this day of duvets ...

I've got raspberries in,thanks to jansman's suggestion,and I'm ordering and planting a fruit tree at a time -I've got a russet apple tree on order at the moment.
Always tomatoes of course too,and hopefully quite a bit more this year.
