Re: Homemade medicine
It depends on the substance and what kind of coating it is on the pill, as some substances react in the acidic environment of the stomach.

Re: Non-tea Teas for dummies
Stumbled across this one while looking for herbal teas online and thought it might be interesting for those that don't want the trouble of fermenting just to try the tea out.

Re: Bugging out at night during winter
Are you planning on staying at the camp site? Or are you going to continue walking the next day? That do effect the order of how I would go about it. If you plan on staying put, I would start with making sure I would stay dry. So setting up the tent/tarp would be number one. Staying warm is number t...

Re: Bugging-in Boredom blasted away by brilliant Boardgames
I'm not much for boardgames (except for Trivial Pursuit), i'm more a cardgame person and I like outdoor games. In Sweden we have one game called Kubb (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kubb), it's quite fun and if you buy a game set for Pétanque, you can combine the two sets and play Tournament of the k...

Growing food that don't look like food
I'm a bugging in kind of a girl and as a smallholder, I grow a lot of my veggies. Something I have been pondering, is that the food I grow is things that could get stolen by hungry bugging out people. You know, the regular carrots, beans, tomatoes and so on. I know how and what to forage, but I will...

Re: Non-tea Teas for dummies
I haven't done it myself, but my friend did it for me according to this recipe. Used translate as it was one long recipe, so it's probably not perfect. How I did it: I took a bunch "tired" (couldn't find a english word for it) leaves at a time and rolled them between my palms until the lea...

Re: Non-tea Teas for dummies
I forgot.
Rosebay willowherb- ferment the leaves and it will taste just like regular tea. There was actually a scandal in Sweden many many years ago, when Russia sold fermented rosebay willowherb as real tea to us. It just shows how similar the taste is.

Non-tea Teas for dummies
ForgeCorvus asked me to start this topic on herbal tea, as I mostly drink it due to me being sensetive to caffein. And I don't want YorkshireAndy to hang himself in case of a tea related emergency, so here are a few alternatives. There are numerous herbal teas, some you can forage, others you can gr...

Re: Price of TEA to increase drastically
MissA: I've tried many herbal "teas" and found them lacking something.... Flavour for a start ;) Horses for courses Tasteless? There are several herbal teas that taste more than regular. Like Hibiscus tea (taste just like cranberry juice), Yarrow and Norway spruce-sprouts. Another oof my ...
