Re: Food Delivery Alternative suppliers
Most of the veg box people near me are not taking on new customers, with one or two running a waiting list for when they have more capacity.

????????? I think that was you and me first off, jansman - perennial edibles :) your lovely link to the backyard gardener (?) gave me a few ideas too. And I'd forgotten that I have sorrel in my garden too, its seeded itself from one plant I bought, and I get some lovely rosettes each year. Sorrel s...

After a long hiatus I've just started checking and rotating stored food, first aid and household stuff. I have a lot of stuff but the upkeep has been poor for a long time - basically moved into newer home and dumped it all in a small room, then life intervened big time. Spring is happening Chez Erro...

Cleric: You need to get yourself a fruit picker pole, they come in three basic types And Free https://cdn.instructables.com/F0Y/C0QJ/GSJ56ZO6/F0YC0QJGSJ56ZO6.MEDIUM.jpg The free one looks nifty. I should really get one of these for the lower branches - but the tree is taller than the house. I'm exp...

Yesterday my dehydrator arrived and I tested it out overnight on some pears. My new garden has a massive pear tree, too high to pick them, so I have a lot of windfalls to try to process. I can see I am going to love having this new piece of kit - jerky recipes next, I think...

Who can remember the 70s, where bread and bog rolls suddenly disappeared off the shelves? I can remember the 70s very well. I studied for my O levels by the light of a Tilley lamp, and when I started to buy my own groceries when I lived in a rented house as a student, I can still remember the horro...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.
This was a prep of sorts: a lot of intensive interviewing leading to the offer of a new job. My current more or less fixed term contract was coming to an end in a couple of months and as my role requires living onsite, that meant finding a new workplace and a new home. And the new home will mean con...

Renewing old stored water at the moment - after a few months of not doing much (horrible work stress) I have been sorting through my kit and stored food, organising things better and noting expiry dates and so on. Come to think of it, I think I have escaped from the main source of the horrible work ...

Re: Any Preppers in London?
I didn't plan my life as a social experiment, but I grew up in a cottage in the middle of nowhere, could not see other houses, one grocer/sub post office a mile away, etc., and moved via small town to university towns to London in the 1980s. I've been there ever since except one 3-year stint in a sm...
