Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Got myself a new problem - rats :o I’ve been waiting for them since we got the hens but thought I’d got away with it until now. I put the food and water away every night and keep the run clean but, inevitably, there is spilled food that gets left on the ground. I’ve got a rat trap but only caught m...

Re: Phone powerpacks
Never tried using a solar panel to recharge my power bank. But, now I'm thinking could I put a panel on the parcel shelf in the car and attach a mesh pouch to the underside as an idea :tinfoil. Don't know if its normal, but mine has its own charging cable. If you don't use that one and a standard p...

Re: Cannabis for pain relief
I’ve recently tried a few tins of ‘Trip’ which is a soft drink with CBD in it.
I drink it about an hour before bed when my back is particularly sore and likely to keep waking me up. So far, I’ve slept straight through without waking. Admittedly, I had some weird dreams though lol.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Spent a few more hours at the peat bank. Luckily my wife came to help as my back is playing up. Just another couple of hours hard graft and we should have enough for our winter needs. Still got a few more veg to plant out yet. I am rather late this year, but with our long long days through summer, t...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
On average, how long does it take to dry itself out for a good burn? What I’m digging now will stay up the hill until around August. Between now and then I’ll turn them a few times to speed up drying. August time I will bring them off the hill for the final drying by the house. Some of it will be b...

Have started this years peat digging. Hard job with a dodgy back, but I treat it as physio lol. On average, how long does it take to dry itself out for a good burn? Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Have been sowing seed this last week or so now. Mostly onions (we eat loads of them) and kale. Can you advise me here? Last year I sowed onion seeds and separately planted some sets. The seeds were a dead loss. What should I realistically expect from those stupidly tiny onion seeds? How long will i...

Have been sowing seed this last week or so now. Mostly onions (we eat loads of them) and kale. Have put in some courgette seeds and some pepper seeds. We are now moving forward with selling our house this year so I was conflicted on planting any veg. Then decided it will look nice to potential buyer...

Re: PMs General Thread
I am still buying a couple of 1oz Britannias each month even with the prices going up.
Like many, I’m in it for the long haul so will be holding my PMs for 10-15 years.
I currently buy from Silvertrader.
(I’m not affiliated with them in any way, that’s just who I buy from)
