Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

Have been sowing seed this last week or so now. Mostly onions (we eat loads of them) and kale. Can you advise me here? Last year I sowed onion seeds and separately planted some sets. The seeds were a dead loss. What should I realistically expect from those stupidly tiny onion seeds? How long will i...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

Have been sowing seed this last week or so now. Mostly onions (we eat loads of them) and kale. Have put in some courgette seeds and some pepper seeds. We are now moving forward with selling our house this year so I was conflicted on planting any veg. Then decided it will look nice to potential buyer...

Re: PMs General Thread

I am still buying a couple of 1oz Britannias each month even with the prices going up.
Like many, I’m in it for the long haul so will be holding my PMs for 10-15 years.
I currently buy from Silvertrader.
(I’m not affiliated with them in any way, that’s just who I buy from)

Re: Cannabis for pain relief

I know of 3 or 4 people here that get it on prescription. From what I know it wasn’t hard for them to get it, and none of them use it for chronic pain. One had ADHD and gets it for that, not sure about the others. I have been considering asking about it as I do have chronic pain, and have been on tr...

Re: Goats

Good info there thank you for sharing. We are hoping to move this year. Downsize the house, but ‘upsize’ the garden space to a few acres. We currently keep chickens and turkeys and are incubating something a little more exotic. Goats are on my radar as with more room we can keep a wider range of liv...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

I will read that link Andy thanks. In our normal daily routine, I’m not too worried about carbon monoxide buildup. Our oil boiler is in a seperate part of the house, and where our fire is it’s quite an open area with living room, dining room and kitchen all open plan. Plenty of air moving around. Th...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

Have started the process of sorting and packing our preps, in preparation of a possible move this year. Also added 2 silver Britannia’s to my collection. Am going to make that a regular monthly purchase from now on. Bought some more candles and lamp oil in case of power cuts (none so far but it’s S...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

Happy New Year to you This week I aim to go through all my stored food and sort it out. Use what needs using and identify any gaps. I’ve been keeping some small but strong boxes and plan to put together some food packs we can grab just in case. Smaller boxes for 24-48 hours, that will store well in ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

This week I have been chopping more wood, and bringing in more peat for the fire. Forecast is for snow next week and we either get very little, or shed loads. Spare clothes and blankets in the car in case I get stuck somewhere. I work night shifts now, so not many ppl out n about when I go to or fro...
